Liberals should realize that people start businesses in order ot profit. These are not non-profit organizations which seems to be all liberals understand. We shouldn't even be talking about whether businesses can absorb this ridiculous proposed minimum wage hike without being forced to shut down or lay off workers. We need businesses to THRIVE, not just survive. Doing so means getting rid of liberal taxes and regulatiosn and other liberal policies like constantly raising the minimum wage.
So all the tourists going to West Virginia and staying at motels and restaurant would quit coming if the minimum wage was raised slightly? Oh its ok to raise Hotel-Motel taxes but lets forget about the people who work in W Va? You guys are talking about $7.25 an hour?? Does that even register in the brain of a Republican or are you wanting us to become like China?

That would require thought and intelligence and our righties would never do that.

you do realize that trickle down is by definition a redistribution of wealth right ? actual, anyone who claims to have a plan where the middle class gains a larger share of the gross income is by definition redistribution of wealth.

you seem to not understand this so i spelled it out for you. You are against the method, not the act, but here you are attacking the act itself.

Raising minimum wage is for people who are uneducated and not smart enough to get a better job.

a good job is defined by pay and pay alone.

for example, in the mall down the road from me, there is a Nike store and an Adidas store. Nike pays 8.40 an hour, Adidas 9.75.

Both are shoe/athletic/clothing stores located in the same mall with roughly the same size work force( and Nike even has higher foot traffic).

Is one worker really worth more or is one company simply willing to pay its workers more ?

That's exactly what the Fed has been doing with quantitative easing. Without QE there are far fewer arguments for raising the minimum wage. You are no longer taking from the lower classes to give to the upper.

Sort of like how the wealth gap has grown by leaps and bounds under Obama and where are the demands to stop what is causing that?
