Many will, as a large portion of jobs which are open and hard to fill are skilled jobs.
The important thing is they would be increasing their odds. Providing 4 working limbs and nothing more does the inverse.
A lot will not find jobs so the whole get more skills is not gonna work for all poor people. What you propose is a good idea for some people but not a cure all for poor people.
I understand that McDs is going to have all of their employees in China. I also understand that Walmart will be moving its cash registers to China too.
You are either being purposefully obtuse or just woefully ignorant.
Obviously service industry jobs that pay minimum wage such as retail or fast food can"t offshore these jobs but they do reduce employees, hours, benefits etc.
The jobs that do end up getting offshored are the ones that become unprofitable as a result of minimum wage hikes and the inflation it causes.
For instance UNION jobs, whose wages are tied to minimum wage, every time MW goes up, their wages automaticly increase by a the same percentage.
Combine that with Caddilac benefit packages and expensive industry regulations and high corporate taxes and it becomes more profitable to take these jobs overseas than it is to keep them here.
Minimum wage hikes are not the only factor in offshoring but to deny that it plays a role is just willful ignorance.

If this is the case then the only solution is to lower wages to 3rd world rates in order to stay competitive.
There is no way America could compete with 3rd world countries when it comes to wages. It's impossible. Offshoring was going to happen regardless of the wages in America.
To suggest that the only way for American companies to stay afloat is to lower the minimum wage or wait for the market to decide the rates is foolishness. The same companies that offshore jobs are the same ones using minimum wage to sell their products in the US to people.

Greed is the primary reason for Offshoring...
Everyone talks about America being the greatest country on earth.. the leader of the free world. Yet you guys blame Americans for wanting to be paid an honest rate to live here.
The evidence is there, min wage jobs don't usually have a specific field or requirement. Since when did a entry level no skill job become and actual field ? Is being a cashier a field that you need extensive education , knowledge , and a diploma ?
So your saying , since a job doesnt look like a " good pay " then we shouldnt bother trying to get the job ? What happened to starting at min wage and moving up the ladder?
