Are there not gay Irish people? Is there a need to hold up a banner to show you are from any other group? Why not ban all banners that groups carry to identify?
Is there an Irish Gay organization in NY ?
If not then they don't march.
The group banners are usually Irish counties or police/fire department fraternal orders.
This group only wants to display their Gay Pride banner..nothing to do with being Irish or of Irish heritage.
Marching in the parade usually has a connection to a county in Ireland or an Irish American group.
The LGBT groups have their own holiday with their own parade. Be content with that. Why force yourselves on other groups and their celebrations ?
What compromise was offered? All of the different groups marching have banners. Why should only the LGBT group be singled out to not be allowed to carry theirs?
Because they are the only ones that want to announce their abnormal sexuality to the world. You can join deBlasio as well if you cant see that.
The group didn't say anything about Irish heritage so that is not even part of their request.
They just want to march and display their Gay Pride banner.
So, he boycotted it. It doesn't mean the parade is cancelled. You can attend, get pissed on green beer, and throw up in the river like the rest of the celebrants.
