The program is rebroadcast on the National Geographic channel during hours when children are generally awake: Episode 1 will be broadcast tonight at 6PM (and then again Friday at 3PM).
I don't have cable.
Too cheap for that lol.
I can just find it online for them to watch, but they like to watch stuff when it comes on TV the first time, it is more exciting for them.
It's unfortunate that so many of the people Dr. Tyson cites as the problem have actual political power in Congress. I credit him with fighting the good fight, however, because shunning science for religion will put a nation on the fast track to obsolescence or being unable to compete in an increasingly technological world.

We're already there.
And are there actually people in here concerned that their kids might glimpse an educational program on television? Wow.
That's the thing. For some reason, some people suggest that if you dare to question evolution, that means you don't believe in science. Wha???
Of course, that is absolutely absurd but it's an easy way for people to write off anything a religious person says when you treat anyone who questions evolution as someone who doesn't believe in science.
Evolution IS science.
If I say 1+1=3, I'm disputing mathematics, not the number 3.
And science doesn't do the same thing? Look no further than the climate change debate to see how scientists and politicians collude to inspire fear and hysteria in the masses, so they can grab more power and cash in on the scare.
You used the wrong example of science. Eugenics and race realism are examples of how science can be used to divide and conquer. Global warming is a reality.

Science means presenting an alternative theory that is better proven than our existing understanding of the universe. Science is not just lazily whining "nuh uh" in response to something one prefers not to hear.
Honestly, how many biologists in XXII century actually question the theory of evolution? Most evolution deniers do it out on religious grounds which is simply absurd.

If you don't believe in evolution, you do NOT believe in science, period.
People who rightly question evolution aren't "rejecting science", they are criticizing the promotion of something that has more holes than a chunk of Swiss cheese.
The focus should be on how some people will use the power of their positions to influence and control others, whether they use religion, business or politics. Focusing on religion was not the correct way to convey this.
