They claim they are protecting their own citizens but there's probably more Russians living in America than in Crimea. They would be targeting their own too.

Putin playing cowboy, again. This is his idea of fostering patriotism. That, and grabbing a chunk of a neighboring country.

If this were to start, rest assured that we'd make sure the whole world was turned to radioactive ash 10 minutes after we were and after the dust settled, America would be the best radioactive ash-zone in the whole world. U.S.A.! U.S.A.!

Crimea: < 2 Million
USA: 313 Million

Brilliant argument Einstein

Please don't pay attention to that bald guy, who like to say aggressive things.
It's his job. When he was younger and not so bald and fat, he hosted a show about Europe and his ideology was absolutely opposite.

It's called saber rattling, folks. Russia is no more interested in going to war against the US than they are in revisiting Afghanistan circa 1989. Mutually assured destruction is still a relevant phrase with the exception that the US tactical technologies are enormous in scale and quite effective in pre-emptively destroying others' nuclear capabilities on a conventional scale. The best case scenario for Russia is that it becomes a smoldeing pile of radioactive ash as well.

Somebody give me a link to the State TV article and a accurate English to Russian translation program.

Here's the thing: Washington tried to pull a stinky and engineer a coup in Ukraine, installing Yats the banker as the new honcho. Anyone who has heard the Victoria Nuland tape knows this. And that's pretty much how it went, until Russia got involved in the Crimea.

What goes around comes around. How would Washington like it if, all of a sudden, millions of ethnic Mexicans residing in the US voted in a referendum to return parts of California and the Southwest to Mexico? It could happen, and sooner rather than later.

If I'm a Mexican government official with a taste for world power, this could be mighty tempting.

Washington died years ago and we have a new president called Obama. Seriously this is more EU versus Russian influence. Putin had a good hand and played it against a fractured and weak Europe as US looked eastward.
