Came across as much smarter and more honestly sincere than a couple of your last few Presidents or any of your latest candidates. You should talk the kid into running for high office.
Listening to this kid state the situation was illuminating to say the least.
Amazing situation when the one guy in the system who places moral integrity above "following the herd" is able to ignite such a firestorm of introspection.
Good on ya Snowden; keep it coming. You're sure giving the establishment a bad case of 'cover-your-butt' syndrome.
I know a lot on the right think he's a traitor, but I'm a Conservative who thinks he did a good thing. I'm glad that this was shared. I have long enjoyed TED conferences, but I missed this one. Thanks for linking it, OP.
It's funny, when the host was asking questions, I was sitting here answering, and then Ed answered just how I answered, (as far as liberty, rights, privacy, etc.) I don't think he's a traitor at all.
I've long been arguing some of the points brought up with people I've encountered over the years, like the "well, if you aren't doing anything wrong" excuse, that they are being led by their feelings, not reality. I've been told that I don't understand. No, I understand completely. Losing our rights under the guise of "keeping us safe from terrorism", is not worth it. And as he pointed out, not one single thing that is being claimed as "necessary" has stopped a single incident.
I am very interested to hear what else he has to reveal.
