I actually did see the video a few days ago. I have a lot of science/geeky friends on FB (we are all pretty geeky BTW, myself included and I'm very proud of my geek factor).
Personally, I don't understand why the OP is upset about the posting of the video. It was on a site specific to the field and not in the mainstream media, maybe it was picked up by some station or something, but it was originally not a mainstream network vid.
If anything, this thread is proof of the religious right trying to always spin anything that doesn't agree with their 6000 year old earth mumbo jumbo into an attack on them.
Newsflash, you are not a victim just because this man's idea about the big bang was "proven." You can believe whatever you want. Also "physicsworld.com" is not main stream media.
I'm not religious, not even spiritual.
Kind of negates everything you just ranted about above, doesn't it?
Physicsworld.com is where you have to go to find the DISSENTING view...
and nothing (in regards to inflation) was proven....that is the point of the thread
Do you want to discuss the findings or continue your quasi-partisan whining?
NOTE: you notice one of the references in regards to the "Multiverse"??
I think it's worth noting the angle here. The "Multiverse" is one of the hypothesis that scientists have been beating their heads against the wall for explaining away the cosmological constant which suggests "fine tuning" of the universe.
Take that for whatever it's worth.
