But the "surge" was due to high utility bills because of the cold weather

The MSM and other "experts" will grab onto anything to promote recovery.
Paying higher utility bills is driving the recovery folks.

Don't worry though as analysts say we'll have a rebound in April.
They just didn't give any reason why they think that will happen.


Consumer spending, personal income up in Feb.
Consumer spending rose 0.3% in February following a 0.2% rise in January, the Commerce Department reported Friday. The spending increases would have been even weaker except for a surge in spending on utility bills.

Well I know for sure electricity bills went up for everyone in the Greater NYC area even when they weren't using electric heat.

Looked like the typical, bland economic report we get every month. Didn't see anyone promoting anything. I think you're reading way too much into this.

I've seen this before, the costs of food and energy go up, which forces the cost for everything to rise, but since this all led to consumer spending to go up, the drones are clapping like trained seals because they think this means the economy is picking up.
