Cincy....we thought we would centralize all the new Tea Party stuff with X group

Boss.....good idea. Send me some examples of these cases so we can look at them and see if more guidance is needed from the lawyers.

It all went downhill from there. Why is the question.

Lerners name on the papers is a red herring/non issue. Every letter that the employees sent out of that office in Cincy would have had Lerners name computer signed on it....or stamped with her signature by a Cincy employee. Do you really think govt agencies pay executives to sit around and sign millions of letters that go out. Get real.

The law states the letters must be signed by the Treasury Secretary...that is then delegated down to the appropriate executive as determined by the agency. That signature is then programmed into the computer for the type of form letter being issued. If its a non standard letter written by an employee they give them the execs sig for a clerk to stamp on all the non standard letter. All agencies have a similar process as btw do most private companies that issue large volumes of correspondence.
Blondy,
I am so embarrassed for you. You fell for the Lois Lerner lie that the targeting scheme started because of an influx of many new 501C4 groups.

The Washington Post, which endorsed Obama in 2008 and 2012, gave Lerner 4 out of 4 Pinocchios for this lie.

Quote:
In other words, while there was an increase in 2010, it was relatively small. The real jump did not come until 2011, long after the targeting of conservative groups had been implemented. Also, it appears Lerner significantly understated the number of applications in 2010 (“1500”) in order to make her claim of “more than doubled.”

A bushel of Pinocchios for IRS’s Lois Lerner - The Washington Post

So, the IRS was improperly targeting the Tea Party BEFORE the surge in 501C4 applications...meaning Lerner lied saying that was why they did it. Also she lied about the application numbers.

Lerner lies left and right, and you, a poor little thing believe her every word.

Just 1 large Loophole which Poliltical groups have been exploiting. Mr Rove put it into the media attention. But only one group (liberal) was not given the status.

This is just another Republican dog and pony show to get money from their sheep.

If you vote no, what reasons do you have to not want these questions answered other than perhaps you are a democrat and put partisan cheering above liberty? Are you afraid this could lead up to Obama, so you don't want these reasonable questions answered? Isn't it our duty to snuff out illegal government targeting of its citizens for political gain of those in power?

Questions:

#1 Lois Lerner said "[E]verybody is screaming at us right now 'Fix it now before the election. Can't you see how much these people are spending?" Who was screaming at her and what actions did she take to "fix it?"

#2 Lois Lerner blamed the targeting on line level people in Cincinnati, how can she then explain the following:
A) The line level people in Cincinnati had documentation that DC had asked for the targeting
B) Line level people in Cincinnati do not have control over other IRS branches, yet targeting happened at IRS branches literally from coast to coast
C) An IRS attorney has stated that the targeting came from an Obama appointee in DC

#3 After the story broke, Lois Lerner in an email said the "Tea Party matter is Dangerous" and asked if "the FEC could save the day." Why is this targeting coming to light so dangerous and why did you want the FEC to help you?

#4 Lois Lerner said that the targeting and questions asked were wrong, apologized, and had stopped. So why did her very office continue sending inappropriate questions targeting and auditing conservative groups with her name on the letters AFTER she admitted it was wrong?

#5 Of the groups flagged for using conservative sounding words, 83% were conservative. Of those groups flagged 100% of the groups actually targeted with an audit were conservative and all of these groups were asked inappropriate questions. How is it that only conservative groups were audited with this program?

#6 Who at the IRS illegally leaked confidential IRS data of conservatives to left-leaning media? When did you find out about it and what have you done to stop it from happening again?

#7 Why did Lois Lerner against regulations improperly contact the FEC directly about conservative groups?

#8 Why were IRS employees breaking the rules by campaigning for Obama on the job to citizens dealing with the IRS? What steps have you taken to prevent this from happening again?

By all means use your intellectual prowess to describe in detail why these are not valid questions. Plus there are more questions since the deleting of the emails was released.

I am willing to bet that you can't tackle my valid questions. "Obreezey's administration must be defended even at the expense of rule of law."

The issue has changed as more e-mails between the Tech nerds and Ms lerner have come out. Backing her statements about the dead computer and the failure of the Tech nerds to get the missing e-mails.

I hope everyone realizes that progressive groups were targeted just as much as Tea Party groups. It was profiling rather than straight random selection. I certainly have no problem with it.

When the IRS was notified that the targeting scheme was inappropriate in 2011, at that moment 83% of the groups flagged were conservative, 100% actually audited were conservative, and no liberal groups were asked inappropriate questions. Since they were notified, yes they went after some liberal groups.

Does the IRS illegally leaking confidentially conservative tax data to liberal groups bother you?

Does Lois Lerner claiming that everyone was screaming at her to fix the Tea Party problem bother you?

Etc...

The questions being asked were common if you are asking to get a tax status. See the needs list on the IRS pages.

Spent a couple of months during that time getting Status for an HOA. All that needs to happen is answer the questions and move on. Feels strange at first but over time you learn how to respond.

I'm quite interested in this, where can I find information on what they found wrong with the drive and what they did to recover it?

Let me explain something to you, loss of data or more specifically loss of data from a platter does not occur that often. There is really only one legitimate explanation for the story they are giving and that would be catastrophic physical damage to the platter. This is very rare and usually preceded by something like the computer being dropped during read/write operation.
