It is interesting, but not surprising, how Democrats were eager to impeach Nixon for using the IRS to target his political enemies, yet now such abuse of power is encouraged by Democrats. This is the type of hypocrisy the Democratic Party is noted for throughout its history.
Every IRS employee knows politics on the job is illegal. They all get ethics training.

No they were not profiled and no they were not targeted. Stop reading biased sources and go to the source. They were flagged for reasons that would have flagged any group. The tea party groups and other conservative groups were specifically flagged becsue of their name.

In total, 30 percent of the organizations we identified with the words "progress"
or "progressive" in their names were processed as potential political cases. In
comparison, our audit found that 100 percent of the tax-exempt applications with Tea
Party, Patriots, or 9/12 in their names were processed as potential political cases during
the timeframe of our audit.

From Lerner herself ---

"However, in these cases, the way they did the centralization was not so fine. Instead of referring to the cases as advocacy cases, they actually used case names on this list.

They used names like Tea Party or Patriots and they selected cases simply because the applications had those names in the title.

That was wrong, that was absolutely incorrect, insensitive, and inappropriate — that’s not how we go about selecting cases for further review."

Don't you feel a little bit overly lapdog-ish when you deny what even Lerner herself admitted ?

You can argue over how and why the targeting began, but denying it happened should embarrass a normal person.

That may very well be true, but you have to understand that there is no standard for a Democrat except the double-standard. Democrats could not even spell "ethics" much less comprehend its meaning. The only ethic Democrats have is dishonesty.

See report by Alex Wagner on Louie Gommerts 1 million dollar bounty for the IRS e-mails. The Guy knows a sucker bet when he sees one.

The Tech people could not save her hard drive.

For some reason you have this left v. right mentality.

This has nothing to do with left v. right and has everything to do with Tyranny v. Freedom.

NO PROOF.

If you want Lerner's head, OK. You might get it. If you do, congratulations. As of now, that is all you or Issa will get.
So essentially what you are saying on behalf of the Obama administration is:

Department of Justice: We Heard About IRS Missing Emails On The News

So Holder's Department of Justice had been "investigating" the IRS for a year when they heard through the media that the IRS emails in question had been erased years ago.

How thorough is Obama's investigation into the IRS if after a year it didn't even discover that the emails in question were already erased?

What is this, the 8th person under investigation to lose all related emails?

Does anyone believe this tripe?

Now the Justice Department is saying that there is no need for a special prosecutor or investigation...their investigation is going so well.

Meanwhile all of these hard drives keep failing just in time for the people being investigated.

wow, just came across this thread....poll results are very heartening. Looks like the vast majority of people are against using the immense power of the federal government to persecute citizens for their beliefs or punishing them for exercising freedom of speech and of association. Congratulations, America.
