Uh, what hard workers are "paying for my insurance"?

If you're talking about simply participating in the premium pool, I'm paying for other people, too. I've been doing it for 50 years, and have paid in far more than I've ever taken out.

That's the way insurance works.

It does address affordability to a degree. People forget that premiums have been skyrocketing since long before the ACA, and long before Obama even got elected.

However -- and sorry if this seems hard hearted -- people simply need to bow up and pay their own freight. Sure, there are special cases like kids and elderly people, but folks of working age need to shut up and shoulder their share of the cost of medical care. My generation has been doing it for 50 years, it's time for the rest to step up.

I agree that the ACA doesn't do enough to deal with cost control. That's my biggest single objection to the ACA. It's a program essentially driven by the insurance industry, Big Pharma and the hospital industry.

What part of ACA addresses affordability and costs? I have yet to hear how adding hundreds of billions of dollars in taxes, makes things cheaper.

This seems to be a concept that Conservative simply can't grasp.

Then why in the HELL are you for it?

And why in the HELL should young folks have to shoulder the cost burden?

Because you said so?

The ADA does NOTHING but INCREASE the cost for most, while aiding the corporations that you despise.

So tell me,

Do you really think that this law was designed to help people like you, or is it just a big money grab?

I'm in favor of the ACA because we are FINALLY addressing some very simple, basic issues that Republicans have intentionally ignored.

Example No. 1: getting rid of the stupid pre-existing condition ban for individuals, so that they can buy insurance on the same basis as corporate employees. That's an underwriting matter that insurance companies handle every day of the week.

As to young people, give me a break. Time to man up, kids. My generation has pampered you since day one, and paid EVERY NICKEL of your housing, food, education, medical, transportation and other costs for at least 20-25 years. And yeah, we took care of your grandparents, too.

It is utterly absurd for you young pups to whine about paying insurance premiums. Do like me, and pay them for yourself and your family and your employees for 50 years. After you've done that, then maybe we can talk about it.

You guys should be ashamed. Get a backbone!
