No, the dems and president told us they knew how to create jobs and forced the repubs to go along with his shovel ready jobs, cash for clunkers and the latest great jobs bill. Obama got everything he wanted to generate jobs. It was his laser focus a few years back.

Business is waiting in the wings ready to explode however, all the lies and double talk and misleading statements from this administration have paralyzed the nations businesses. Surprise every Friday night with changes to obamacare destroy the stability business needs to make future plans. Out of control federal regs and 442 new taxes created by obama eat up the oxygen to suffocate business and jobs. Admin supporters swear the rich and big business are not the source of jobs and that demonstartes the circle jerk Obama calls his economic recovery announced by Biden in the summer of 2010.

Obama's war on the 'rich' further smothered any sign of life as the definition of the 'rich' keeps changing.

In fact it is to obama's advantage to keep UE high until he can breathe life into obamacare and take it off the respirator though no brain waves are detectable. No job, no insurance.

This is true. Why would anyone want to risk their money and the government take such a big chunk. It is funny that liberals think they only got the so called rich guy without realizing they will be collateral damage.

When the government starts adding in the things that people buy on a daily basis you'll have a valid argument.

You mean someone who has to get approved by the Senate? Small detail that you gloss over....again.

So 538's got a early look at the data (and to be fair they say its too early to be completely conclusive, but its VERY consistent with other research on the topic):
Losing Benefits Isn’t Prodding Unemployed Back to Work | FiveThirtyEight

This of course shouldn't be a surprise, unemployed people do not spontaneously create jobs just because they want one. Many here have pointed at a earlier experiment where a state stopped their unemployment as a great success, and their resulting unemployment rate went down-ignoring the reality that the total employed in the state didn't change.
Let's turn this argument around:

Losing unemployment benefits is not compelling people to go to work, so they must not need the money.

Not necessarily true. Government spending in a time of recession can spur a creation of jobs depending on what they spend on, however a incompetent government that doesn't know how to stimulate the economy when in a recession will not create jobs nor benefit the economy at all.

Please. Inflation is based on:
  • Food and beverages
  • Housing
  • Apparel
  • Transportation
  • Medical care
  • Recreation
  • Education and communication
  • Other goods and services
Whats missing?

Additionally massive numbers of accounting and financial firms use the inflation rate-because its accurate. Not because its wrong as you indicate. So if we believed you we would have to assume a MASSIVE world wide conspiracy to lie about it-and in many cases to lie about it to their own detriment. Please.

Then there's a lack of motivation. I guess picking crops or fast food wages won't pay for that Xbox and Mama's cell phone, right?
