IMO they did. You can scream your unusual punishment stuff all day long. Doesn't make it so. Nothing cruel or unusual about a bullet to the head. What most of em are in there for to begin with.

But answer this-what if the US cut our military down to almost nothing. Cut off all aid to the world. Kicked all the illegals out and make it much tougher to immigrate here (like Canada has done).
If we refocused on making the best products in the world again like we did decades ago, and with our technology innovation being the top in the world with no one else close-I wonder just how well we would be doing?
Canada would have to build a military, probably cooperatively with Britain but it would still cost trillions of dollars. That is where the national debt starts.
Personally, I would love to see the US do exactly that. Become much more isolationist. Leave the world to whatever happens. If someone attacks Canada or Mexico, it's their problem. They attack us, they will get armageddon in return.

The difference between YOU and ME is that I also support the BILL OF RIGHTS and the principles this nation was FOUNDED ON, wheras you, well, you support an IRON FIST ("Rights? They don't need not stinkin' rights. Kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out").
