This ongoing minimum wage issue prompted me to consider what if there were a maximum wage.

And then I recalled that there actually was wage regulation in the early colonies:

Isn't that an overly broad "you" you're using? I'm confident that only a small minority of Stamford residents with annual income of $53,490 (or less) are getting government rent subsidies.

While all of those specified residents might qualify for rent subsidies, only a lucky few actually receive them.
