I don't tip on a to go order. Why would I be expected to do that?

10-12% is considered standard for to-go orders. The reason you do this is because either the to-go order is assembled and delivered to you by a server who is already taking other tables, and thus providing you a service for which they would otherwise not be paid, or they are 'only' doing to-go orders when the business is being slammed with them. They are doing this for server wages which are usually under $5/hour and often as little as $2.50/hour.

If you don't think you should have pay the people who work hard to make you happy, to feed you for God's' sake, you were born in the wrong century.

Hey!

That's how I get my tips! By not tipping!

Elsewise, I'd never get any tips at all!

My profession is way above being dependent on a tipping culture.

Outside of flashing a nice smile, my customers never tip.

It's way too mercenary.

Only arrogant materialists tip.

What is the source of the $11K in donations? What is the website where she (falsely) posted that she was the subject of a racial slur? I can't quite tell from the photo.

Interesting. I've never heard of this standard before. I've always heard that zero percent is standard on a to-go order.

That website posted a fundraiser for her. The source of the donations would be the suckers who bought her fake story.

Nonsense. 10% is standard for table service. 0 is standard for a to-go order.

I thought it was 15 % standard and 0 on to go orders. I usually tip 20 and 0 on to go.

15% standard for average service on table service, 10% for bad 20 for good, even less if they completely suck.

I don't tip on to go orders. I tip for service, puting my food in a bag is not service. Same as looting coffee does not deserve a tip, nor making a sandwich.

Btw; I waited tables for about 4-5 years while in college
