Another in a long list of clueless pitbull owners.
I'm still waiting on someone to provide a good reason why anyone, other than a dog fighter, would need to own a pitbull?

We have been trough this argument a thousand times ad nauseam. These dogs, Rottweiler's also, are extremely powerful dogs and owners need to take extra precautions so things don't get out of hand. With that said, all of the pits I know are very loving dogs, but as with any other dog, they can and do sometimes turn. Their attack is vicious and often deadly, only because they are so powerful. You generally would not see the same type of damage done buy a smaller less powerful dogs.
Should they be outlawed? I don't believe so, but I do believe the owners should have some training as to how to handle these special dogs.

Dog have prey drive.......some more than others.

It takes time to train any dog.

Our hounds hunt and kill bear or, about anything else running from them.

When was the last time a pack of hounds attacked/killed a person? I'm sure it's happened, but it's very rare.

Unfortunately with pitbulls, it's not that rare.

Many dogs are said to be pit-bills and they are not pit-bulls.

It is early in the investigation of this case.

Some dogs have been bred with certain instincts. With good training and a watchful eye they can become great pets. Too many people buy these big dogs bred especially for guarding or aggressiveness to look tough, or for status, then mistreat or ignore them. They don't understand what it takes in order to make sure dogs fit in normally...let alone dogs with more forceful instincts to protect, or for prey.

I am an unabashed advocate of destroying the Pit Bull breed. They serve no good purpose, and have proven time and time again that they are a menace to society.

There doesn't seem to be too much to actually investigate.
