Why not call them automatic rifles...even though they are not...
Great job!
BTW.......many (not the NRA) have called those people in TX idiots....
Don't worry about facts...
Because I know they aren't 'automatic rifles'...but not every one of these 'open carry' guys is walking around with a Brown Bess, though they try to make their guns sound that innocuous.
And the NRA did call them idiots, only to back off their statement. But then the NRA is most a gun-marketing program rather than a gun-owner organization these days and they don't want to alienate their customers.
It's fascinating that a few guys carrying long guns (and not just your average rifle either) into public places have managed to do what gun-control advocates have failed to do...namely get corporations to say that guns aren't welcome in their establishments.
Well done, gun fans! Keep it up and we'll have national gun control before you know it!
1) wont happen because outside of a business is my business.
2) All the mass murders are taking place in Gun Free States or businesses!

Why should they walk around with a obsolete firearm?
Should you have walk around with a cell phone from the 1990s so people are not afrind of being in a photo/video?
They fight for and protect civil rights in America, you are thinking of the NSSF Nation Shooting Sports Foundation..
Once you start bringing long guns to restaurants there will be more...
When you consider that hunters and shooters at gun ranges, cops and soldiers, even gun-safety instructors have accidents with their weapons...I'm not prone to accept that these 'open carry' types have any better safety records. A car backfires, a waiter drops a tray, some little kid screams...or the guy just 'forgets' that it's loaded.
It's especially worrisome when you see them posing in pictures with their fingers on the triggers.
My family and I were dining at a joint downtown one evening.
Four guys walked in, carrying what appeared to be AR-15s.
Before the door closed, the tree waiters and the bartender had Mac10s out. My wife had already grabbed our kid and was diving under the table. I rolled to the floor and pulled my G20, snicking the safety off, but before I could acquire a target, caps were popping in all directions. I decided to stay put.
When the noise calmed down, one of the waiters was lying on the floor staring at me. The Busboy pointed his Mag at me. I set my piece on the floor and looked at my wife. she was fine, and was brushing debris from the kid's hair.
the four guys were bleeding out. The waiters went back to work. Picking up the their co-worker and hustling him through the kitchen. Barkeep offered us a bottle of Chianti, but we declined. He said, "Sorry for all the commotion. your meal is on the house tonight. Come back some other night. We're not always this exciting."
I picked up my piece, set the safety and slid it back in its holster, gathered up the wife and kid while the bartender called us a cab.
So yes, I can only assume that ANYONE bringing a long gun ( which I do own a few rifles ) here in the " big city ", are out to intimidate, rob, or cause harm.
I see one of those hicks point their AR15 at the cashier? or a child? Bullet in the head, no questions asked.
You have never owned a gun or are one of the morons that should be checked for mental health issues.
Bumhick county?
Broward County is no bumhick county my friend and you wouldn't last more than a sneeze if you went there with the false bravado that you spout on here!

There was nothing in the paper about it.
Never went back.
If your story is true (not saying it isn't .. just sayin) .. if it's true, just think .. you coulda been in a 'Gun Free' restaurant!
What would you have done if one of them decided you were sitting in his favorite chair? Or complimented your wife's a**? Or your daughter's?
I wonder how you guys handle these little conflicts, when everybody is armed.
The same way I would if they were unarmed and behaved that badly. I would ask them to behave and if they persist I would request management escort them out. If they became physical I would defend myself and let the police or coroner handle them.
I fear more that they would drop a loaded rifle and hurt someone than I would that they would try to start trouble in close quarters with a long range weapon. I would be much more concerned about an idiot with a handgun starting trouble as you describe.
To the restaurant that me and my family were, I was CC, I noticed these people when they walked in the door, I paid attention to them, they sat down, had dinner, paid, and left the restaurant.
No one was killed, they had their guns under control at all times....
Me and my family left unharmed....
I did not question them, I did not take any action......me and my family left the restaurant...
So, please discuss why me and my family should have been in fear of these people?
This is the first post.
"they had their guns under control at all times"......that was part of the question.
Yet......some had to spin that into.....pointing the guns.....talking to the loved ones.....having accidents......and conflicts.
None of that was any part of the question.
Those living in fear of guns just had to impose their fear on others......how sad.

Chalk another one up to CC!
They had a sign at the door that said "No hay armas"
Those four guys couldn't read, I guess.
