It certainly will. If Conservatives attempt to sabotage Cochran or refuse to turn out to vote for him because they're sore losers, it will send the message that once again, the Tea Party has lost the GOP yet another "safe" seat. Maybe it will finally sink in to the GOP establishment that the Tea Party is more of a hindrance than an asset to them and it's time to marginalize them, something outside observers have known for quite some time.

No they weren't.

They were revolutionary, not fanatic.

They are learning-hence the establishment went hard after them and won the majority of races vs TP with ease. Just like Perot's folks, the TP as a stand alone would be a big "so what". 20% vs 80% loses every single time.

Semantics. The point is the same.

haha. I think the establishment already considers the Tea Party a hindrance! They hate when people try to stick with the Constitution, cut their big government and thus their power and money.

They were extremely conservative revolutionaries too. Filled with lots of educated wealthy men who idealized science and learning.

Did you miss my post regarding the 6 Tea Party victories in the last 5 weeks? You do know that McDaniel got WAY more republican votes that Cochran right? And that incumbents win by a vast majority, GOP or democrat. The Tea Party is not a stand alone. We just want the GOP to go back to what they once stood for, not what they did in Mississippi.

Moving backward is failure. It's poor strategy. It's unrealistic.

The only way the GOP can stay competitive with the Democrats is by moving forward. A party that actively tries to exclude people, will always be marginal. The only way a party can be successful in the United States is by being inclusive, by trying to appeal to as many people as possible. The Tea Party will eventually stand alone, because it's view of politics is unrealistic. It wants a party that is pure and uncompromising, and that is a party that is doomed to failure. You can't represent the majority of people in a nation and maintain purity and be unwilling to compromise. It's impossible.

There isn't a DAMN THING wrong with Thad Cochran as Republicans go. How far are you guys gonna go with this foolishness? When a Mississippi Republican is being treated as if he's some far lefty wacko, you Republicans really need to check yourselves before you destroy what's left of the Republican Party.

Cochran is a genteel, thoughtful, Southern Republican with VERY GOOD conservative bonafides. You wanna run him out and elect a bomb thrower that hates compromise? Senators are supposed to be statesmen...not Bob Dornan types.

You're willing to destroy a solid conservative Republican at the cost of giving the seat to a Democrat? Just because he's doesn't quite hate Obama enough for your tastes?

The Republicans have gone bat**** crazy with this chicanery. You think 100 Sharon Angle types in the Senate could fix this country? SMH...seriously?
Its funny you said that... how do you feel about Obama, Reid, and Pelosi... please, just for laughs...
