Here is my report.... Increased warm temperature extremes; fewer extreme cold days and nights, fewer frost days and more extreme warm nights and days; longer frost-free period. Daily minimum and maximum temperatures higher in all seasons; greatest warming in spring and winter. Indicators of Climate Variability and Change | Natural Resources Canada

The question is not "is the climate changing?" Of course it is.

The question is "how much is humanity driving that change and how do we handle it?"

People seem to forget that even purely natural climate changes can have catastrophic impacts for a civilization. History is full of dead civilizations that withered away when the local climate changed. Sometimes the civilization in question was partly the cause, sometimes it wasn't, but the end effect was still often disastrous.

People also seem to want to deny that humans can affect the climate on a large scale. The Dust Bowl alone should be proof enough of the folly of that belief system. Bad farming practices severely exacerbated a drought cycle, making the situation far worse than it had to be.

Nobody here is calling for "fixing" climate change with higher taxes or some carbon credit scheme. No, the solution can only come through better technology, better science, and better use of the limited resources this planet has. But to deny climate change and its potentially devastating effects based on nit-picking: "Well, some of the climate change is natural" or "Well, it was cold this winter, so there must be not be climate change!" is just ignorant folly that flies in the face of all of history, science, and common sense.

me too... the point they want to drive home is that man made it so man should fix it. Of course they can't prove exactly how much man is at fault, nor can they tell you how man will fix it. They'll argue until they turn blue, or everyone admits they are guilty and opens their wallets. It's mind numbing.

It's really quite amusing how blue all of the alarmists are turning.

If they have their way, the earth will be covered with solar panels and windmills. In the future when we enter a cooling time, they'll be exclaiming "the earth is going to freeze" and will start burning all the solar panels and windmills. Alarmists are just frightened children who react to any change. It has switched from freezing to warming at least 6 times in the last 80 years.

The climate scientists themselves agree the earth hasn't warmed at all for the last 12-15 years. It basically stopped, and has crashed all their models.

And BTW, last Winter was damn cold for most of the northern hemisphere.

-----------

As of March 13, daily record lows led record highs by about a 2.5-to-1 margin – a sharp contrast to a heavily lopsided 2012 that featured about 5 times as many record highs as record lows.

Winter snow cover areal extent over the Lower 48 states was the 10th largest on record, dating to 1966, according to the Rutgers University Snow Lab.

Alaska has severe flooding from rain right now

last year it was Europe and Asia freezing. 2013 was called the "100 year Winter"

This is just the way global climates roll.

Climate scientists have not said that warming has stopped, and what does a cold winter in the east USA have to do with AGW?
