The public isn't overly gullible on this issue. Only around 12% believe the lost emails were an accident 12% are unsure, and 76% believe they were deliberately destroyed. Even a majority of Dems think the emails were deliberately destroyed.

Anybody in IT is laughing at the claim that a forensics lab could not recover any of the email data on this disk. Sans severe physical damage to the platter the probability is nil. What is so hard to understand about that?

Errr, prior to May 2013, the backups were kept on tape for 6 months then the tapes recycled to newer backups.

It would have cost them at the very most a few thousand a month to make proper backups. It's inexcusable.

Well, if you refuse to look into facts, perhaps you will believe the FOXBOT "news"....

IRS says Lerner emails lost forever, but agency had contract with file-storage company Sonasoft | Fox News

IRS Prematurely 'RETIRED' Data Storage Devices | The Daily Caller

The IRS broke its protocol, it erased Lerner's back up tapes without inspecting them. The IRS filed papers that some data storage devices related to the scandal had already been destroyed while they were still in use. Etc...

To believe all of this is coincidence is to believe in fairy tales.
