So you think we should take away funds and give to private schools that only allow in a limited number of students that can afford their fees? Why have public schools at all in that case. Education should be for only those that can afford it.
Too many public schools fail to educate . We can not afford generations of illiterate kids
I'm totally fine with it as long as the public money doesn't go to religious institutions.
People pay taxes for public schools, so if they receive a voucher (a return of their money) what difference does it make if they choose a private (religious) school? It's their money!
I have no objection to a voucher system as long as the money is being spent to educate students and not to indoctrinate them into believing silly fairy tales.
Like what "silly fairy tales?" Global warming? I can think of a number of other fairy tales that the public schools indoctrinate kids with, too.

This is what they proposed to do in PA, they were going to take the worst performing districts which were also the poorest districts and offer those kids a voucher. That voucher could of been used at a public or private a school, if you have public school that is performing well they could in fact increase enrollment. The school that lost the student would lose the state funding for that student however since the state funding only made up half of the schools budget they would have been left with more funding per student.
A school that teaches religious doctrine / offers religious services. Public money should not be spent on promoting religion.
The public schools don't teach a religious doctrine?
Besides, it isn't "public money." It is their tax money. Public schools are not free. They are supported with taxes.
