Having researched racism in the 21st century, I have found that it should really be a dead (or almost dead) issue in our society, however I have discovered that the primary source keeping it alive are liberal (really socialist) politics and media. Under the guise of victimhood based policies such as Affirmitive Action, Black History Month, Race identifications on job applications, Race based scholar ship funds, liberal agenda driven Media Outlets, and Welfare Programs targeting specific groups, the socialist keeps racism alive by keeping people divided. By pointing out a person's skin color and then trying to place them into a specific box separated from people of other skin color they are essentially encouraging not diversity but an indoctrination of a label, a label based solely upon one's skin color and not their actions or individual character.
Why do liberals do this? Because they need to racism to win. They need something to "Fight Against," and by creating it they are given the power they crave. The liberal has falsely created racial issues where there never were any to begin with. You can see this in something as simple as Voter ID, every single Western Nation on the planet has Voter ID. It's just common sense. But they have turned it into a race issue for votes and falsely scared uneducated voters into believing it by lying to them. The same thing happens with Illegal Immigration, School Choice, Gun Rights, and a whole list of other issues. Liberals thrive off of pitting their fellow Americans against one another, telling groups they are victims being oppressed by another group and creates the division they need to control people. Their biggest fear would be if tomorrow they woke up and the world became color blind, nobody caring or noticing another person's skin color, the very world that Civil Rights Leaders such as MLK Jr. were fighting for.
Bottom Line: Liberals need racism to stay in power. They create it, they feed off it, they need it to control people and to use it as a way to silence those they disagree with by playing "the race card." This is in complete opposite to Conservatives who believe that we should build a color blind society, one where race doesn't even exist or matter.

You did not provide an intelligent rebuttal. When one cannot attack the argument they attack the person.
Look at race issues in our modern society, it doesn't take a genius to see who is fabricating it all. While there are a few small groups of racists out there, such as the KKK, they are extremely isolated and an EXTREMELY small minority. The majority of modern day racism is falsely constructed by a certain group for political power.

Son, maybe you slept in the back of your history class. From about 1840 until about 1964, the southern racists were democrats. But the past 50 years, them boys has been solid Pubs.

I do not know if it was a goal....but, it seems to be working that way.
The same kind of argument could be used on conservatives. They act as if they have a monopoly on morality by creating ludicrous claims like 'gay marriage damage traditional marriage' which is something we've all hear many conservatives say, despite not one example of this existing.
That's politics, bud. They create non-existent issues or exaggerate the severity of an existing issue, and use that to gain support. That, and corporate 'campaign contributions.'

The KKK has never been allowed in the GOP. There are no racist groups listed within the Republican Party, unlike the Democratic Party which had the KKK listed as a support group, and still has The Black Panthers as a support group. Conservativism is not possible with the KKK because Conservatives believe in small Government and a color blind society, this in contrast to the KKK who want a Big Government to enforce their bigotry and they are obviously not color blind.
Furthermore, the quote you are referring to in your link was spoken by Nixion in response to Democrat LBJ who made some very racist statements in his creation of "The Great Society" which was a series of welfare programs targeted towards black people, you can hear what he said in the link below. Also the Southern Strategy was not a mass exodus of racist Democrats to the Republican Party. While there was and always has been (or used to be) some overlap between the two major parties, only a small number of racist Southern Democrats became Republicans, most of them stayed within the party becoming Blue Dog Democrats. While the GOP has changed somewhat over the years, it still retains it's core values that were put in place by Lincoln and Fredrick Douglas. The Democratic Party however has had to reinvent it's self multiple times throughout history in order to stay alive.
