All good progressive libs know this technique too well; it's a classic Alinsky tactic. It's also how Obama won the IL state senate seat as well as US senator. The 2008/2012 campaigns would have put a tingle up Alinsky's leg.
Some outrageous things are said about Obama, the sad thing, most are true.
I couldn't believe the crazy stuff the uber biased mainstream media put on McCain/Romney in either election.
The left had an unknown candidate who was unvettted - to this day - but put upon a pedestal because he is a dark white man - almost as outlandish as a white hispanic. The media kept on pushing him over Clinton (gee, which is the worst of the two?) and then McCain/Palin. During the 2008 election fans called in to vote and their rock star won American Idol.
Fast forward to 1012...Rome was burning all around him and he got reelected. How the hell that happened is a pure fantasy football turn of events. I can't believe the number of scandals hanging around his neck. The media ignored them as he deemed them to be "phoney" and most of America forgo hem as well. He won American Idol twice thanks to Hollywood butt sniffers like Alex Baldwin and countless others. Put the leftist media at point - they were like waking up to find yet another Obama political sign planted on your front yard every morning. An unwanted one at that.
Romney was a weak candidate up against a world celebrity - a tough chore. There were better choices but my fellow conservatives are a petty bunch - too much in fighting - and can't get their ducks in a row when SHTF. They think they can after the fact but they threw it all away 2 years ago. They watched and listened to the smear campaigns and many conservatives were swayed. I have no better explanation for it.
IMO, Rick Perry was the strongest GOP candidate at the onset of the 2012 campaign season. The problem? Many "conservatives" are becoming moderates as they give in to Political Correctness and the brain warpage that goes along with it. They have thrown in the towel because they no longer want to fight the good fight. Going along with the crowd is surely easier than going against it, especially when most of your family, friends, acquantances and co-workers are liberals. I have looked into the mouth of that beast and it has no brain. I am named "conservative" or "republican" with disdain by people I have known for years. Hurt my feelings? No, I know who has hollow skulls.
2016 has to be better guys, don't give in.
