No, there really are differences that go beyond ideology and race. Mrs. Clinton or Elizabeth Warren would make no difference. Hell, I wouldn't care if Rand Paul were elected, it won't change how some people are viewing the country as a whole.

Of course, back when that book was published, Harrier was in Ecotopia.

Well, the red states that are reliant on the very government aid they scorn would collapse and join back with the blue states.

Most Red States Take More Money From Washington Than They Put In | Mother Jones

"Red states were more likely to get a bigger cut of federal spending. Of the 22 states that went to McCain in 2008, 86 percent received more federal spending than they paid in taxes in 2010."

Blue state, red face: Guess who benefits more from your taxes?

"“On the other hand, eight of the ten states with the highest non-payment rates are solidly Republican. The exceptions are New Mexico and Florida.”"

I can already see where the screaming would begin... All the major refineries, a vast amount of the oil and gas reserves would be in Greater Appilacia

While Wall St, which is the source of funding to start the drilling, would not be in Appalachia.
