Yes, Israel is to blame for many things. They keep on expanding settlements against International Law, have a right wing (Bush like) government that favors collective punishment, ignoring Jewish terrorism and extremism in the country, and favoring war mongering over peace talks. Per the collective punishment accusation, they also unfairly penalize the quality of life of the average person in Gaza for their terrorist ruling but elected government.

There, I said it. The government of Israel sucks at the moment and so does the War. I'm very left wing. But I'm not a hypocrite, and I fully support Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state alongside a Palestinian state.

Israel is a country just like all others and has a right to exist free from daily rocket attacks on it's citizens. If innocent Palestinians shouldn't suffer from the policies of their government, why should Israelis? Why can't a Jewish state exist within a mutually agreed border alongside a Palestinian state? Why do people who accuse Israel of collective punishment also delegitimize the country's existence, contrary to their view of other countries?

Hamas is fully to blame for the current situation. Not only did Hamas launch rockets at the Israel's civilian population, they also built underground attack tunnels using child labor in order to commit mass murder of Israelis in the future (perhaps on the Jewish new year of Rosh Hashana).

A little. I think Israel never should have relinquished tactically key disputed areas which put it in a more vulnerable position from terrorists and hostile neighbors. They've also been too lenient in dealing with their enemies. A firmer stand years ago would have prevented many conflicts since.

Brain dead Arabs sling rockets into Israel, Israel responds. Brain dead Arabs say Israel has no right to exist and fires more rockets. Israel responds.

Yep, brain dead Arabs cause all the problems.

So what? They have to allow missiles to be fired at them because not everyone does it or agrees with it? Are they supposed to interview everyone? They are targeting places where Hamas puts missiles. If Hamas puts them by innocent people, then that's the fault of Hamas. Maybe those people should help Israel get rid of Hamas who is at fault for them being harmed.

Of course they do, so does the US and the rest of the developed world.

As a VERY engaged observer, I'll give my honest opinion, and the answer is not exactly.

What I am very annoyed at israel for is not propping up abbas much more, giving him lots of help and improving the lives of the west bank arabs much more, so that the gazan arabs can really see how acting intelligently and peacefully will obtain much better rewards. Israel has the most reasonable peace partner in its history with him, and should be closely helping him improve the west bank's economy, infrastructure, etc.

Instead, this is an instance where the anti-bibi lunatics actually have some legitimate ammo, bibi's marginalization of abbas is profoundly stupid; imagine how it would look while this war is going on if bibi and abbas were caught in photo ops cutting ribbons to new malls, factories, schools, etc., being built in the west bank?

It would humiliate hamas and drive all of gaza against them, if they are not already given how the hamas leaders and their families are safely tucked away in qatar and elsewhere.

If bibi had more foresight and could think more broadly, he could solidify a peace with the west bank arabs, help them create a solid economy and high standard of living, and expose hamas for EXACTLY the piece of sh-t that it is; a terrorist, murderous group of filth that is no more than a lackey for its masters in iran.

You want me to list the 20 or so groups in the mideast right now that the arabs are at war with/oppressing/murdering/ethnically cleansing out?

Israel is not lily white, but the fact of the matter is that the arab muslims are incredibly racist, and will not tolerate the sovereignty of any one else in the mideast. That the jews are the one group who has opted to fight back and not end up like the assyrians of iraq under ISIS is to their credit.
