Most of those that are pro-environmental have little to gain to financially despite all the conservative BS to the contrary.
If it was not expensive and great deal of money to be made why the need for the laws? If you don't think there isn't great deal of money to be made in environmental legislation you're being naive. Do you think the the natural gas industry which gave 26 million and the millions from renewable energy corporations going to the Sierra Club is because it was the right thing to do? LOL
pffffffftt, any idea how many millions of dollars is funneled through that organization?
Form 2007 until 2010 they accepted 26 million dollars from Chesapeake Energy... that's one company. They wanted to give them another 30 million until the **** hit the fan.
You mean the Learjet flying 'what's good for thee isn't good for me' thinking liberal billionaires/millionaires, you mean those guys? I don't listen to them.
Yeah and Republicans would never do anything like this. Should you be pissed off about this then you should be asking yourself why did conservative judges rule the way they did in the Citizens United case.
"Enemies of the State"? Really?
Clue: Big business and the Rich push their agendas for whatever reasons, just like oil, gas and coal industries do the same, just to name a few. What I am surprised about is that anyone was so out of touch to not know this is business as usual.

And the coal industry and oil industry have no clout in Congress...that is truly hilarious.
As to the "need for laws" is simple: to stop industries, like coal, from poisoning the water, air and natural environment. That is the easiest question I have ever answered.

Obama and his wealthy liberal buddies...enemies of the state.......but in their mind they're doing God's work....
Not God's work. They don't believe in God...remember. God's some fairytale invention of the bible-thumping conservatives. Maybe they're doing Darwin's work. Or Freud's. Or Lenin's. But never God's.
I just spit my coffee out, lol.
