Remember they only had one dose to send to Africa when the doctor and nurse were sick.

This drug is still in experimental stage and hasn't been through all the tests and approved by the FDA.

No country in the world is prepared for a massive outbreak. Look at Africa where this happens every so many years.

The WHO has reported that the number of ebola victims is doubling every 20-30 days.
You are right. No one is prepared but why? Ebola has been around for decades.

Here's what I want to know. Old doctor Ezekiel Emanuel, who advised President Obama, had some proposals about what should happen when resources are scarce in his Complete Lives System and another paper he wrote but no one ever defined "when resources are scarce." It amounted to prioritizing treatment. Working age adults first because they contribute to the means of production, teens over babies (because no money has been invested in infants yet), elderly and disabled last. Did it make it into the Affordable Care Act? Who knows? Certainly not the people in Congress. How are schlubs like us supposed to know?

The CDC itself talked about prioritizing treatment when it was vaccinating for the H1N1 in 2009 (right on their website):

Pregnant women

Household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age

Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel

All people from 6 months through 24 years of age

Children from 6 months through 18 years of age

Young adults 19 through 24 years of age

Persons aged 25 through 64 years who have health conditions associated with higher risk of medical complications.

Tough nouggies if you are over 64.

So, not having enough medicine to treat Ebola should there be an outbreak in the US compounded by an administration (it's government political appointees as well as the White House) known for lying about a lot of things and the media who protect them make a lot of us queasy.

I'm waiting for them to trot out Susan Rice...

Here in the land of the nodding....we have snowbirds flying in from all over the globe to beat winters. Not going to stop going to the store or out to eat, but I will take my Purell lol. It is here and we have to deal with it the best we can.

No - that's the CDC that only exists in your head. The real CDC said Ebola would be manageable.

Isn't a nice capital gains tax cut the answer for Ebola and I need that gun to shoot a crazed Ebola victim who might dare to step on my front door step?
By not taken basic simple steps such as imposing travel restrictions on those areas affected by the Ebola outbreak in the same manner as England and France have done this administration has opened up itself to charges of incompetency by political forces whose main goal is to pursue policies as you described above.

Yeah, that's just as dumb.

But blaming Obama for THIS?

Why not blame Reagan for HIV/AIDS or FDR for polio while you're at it...?

The thing is...people make mistakes, not just states and governments. Look at the shabby/sloppy secret service department the White House is dealing with....people just screw up. We have to sharpen our pencils, be more aware at hospitals now. Get some very clear methods and systems in place to deal with the discarded linens and towels and fluids. Now, not after endless gassy meetings, but now.

To blame Tx? Well your hatred is showing lol.

I agree, which why I think its ridiculous when these morons tell me there's nothing to worry about because the government has it under control.

If so then it's no surprise how it's rampant and out of control.

The average IQ in Liberia is 67. Let's just say they're not known for their intellectual prowess.

Top doctors state this Ebola outbreak is different from any other outbreak. Do some research! This time around the Ebola virus has a high mutation rate and is spreading .
