ISIS came into being because of the power vacuum left by toppling Saddam. Obviously Maliki's government for the Shiites doesn't satisfy everyone. So even if the US does commit the resources to fully destroying ISIS, what is going to be put in place to fill this power vacuum? Without a dictator or a strong enough government in place to control all the rival factions, this will just happen again under another group with another acronym.
Time to support Assad and find an old Baathist. Back to the future.

Interesting perspective. Turkey has been fundametalist leaning these days. It would be intriguing if the fundamentalist would attack them
Turkey has the 8th most powerful military in the world according to Global fire power. With a modern air force and armor, ISIS would not stand a chance.
These monstersa re unlike anything I've ever seen. Beginning to think we either exterminate these cockroaches over there, or deal with them spreading, maybe even over here. Cut the snake off at its head.

Define "win". Killing everybody? Isis is winning because it has the popular support. If Iraqis and Syrians want a calliphate they have a right to it. Defending Kurds is another issue and I am all for it.
They will turn on theirselves, which they already have. As soon as they lack an outsider to fight they turn to the guy standing next to them and scream "Non-Believer"
