Your attempts to minimize the magnitude and cost of illegal immigration is weak
Your careful omission of gun violence in urban america and focus on gun possession by home owners
Is a clever attempt to turn attention from the elephant in the living room

Basically, the article makes the case that we need to stop listening to the "loudest and stupidest voices" and letting the people toting around rifles at Target and protesting buses of refugee children define us. It's making America look like a laughing stock to the rest of the world.
Yeah we are not the problem, we are not the one trying to limit the rights of other people and importing a poverty stricken voter block.

Why would we care what the other countries of the world think. We bomb them. We kick in the door to their homes and shoot them. Not wide spread, but occasionally we rape their women. Turn their economy to dust and turn them to prostitution for a hand full of eggs. Set up puppet governments ruled by sadistic dictators. I would think we would be the envy of the world. What's the case to be made, for what they think, about a few nut jobs here at home in comparison?
Reminds me of my mother saying don't do that, what would the neighbors think. I would reply " you don't even know the neighbors, you have never talked to them and we've lived here 5 years".

Y'know... plates, cutlery, towels? The things they sell at Target. Again, I ask, why don't you shop at Target?
I like other stores.

I have always wondered why they focus on such moronic things.
