Says someone from the heart of the secessionist movement, SC!!! Truth be told votes to Repeal Obamacare wasted more money and time than this little needed legislation... Picking and choosing outrage selectively & carefully is a conservative trait...

I'm pretty sure I see the Confederate flag a lot more than the average Californian. I just can't muster much concern about it. It doesn't bother me. It's an inanimate object that only has as much power as I'm willing to give it. I can't see why California thinks this is an issue in their state. Something like transforming the health care system has a greater impact than an old flag. I really just think the Confederate flag in general is a non-issue. If it were treated as such, you would likely see less and less people making a fuss about it one way or another.

I live in California. Have never seen it. Never have lived anywhere that had folks keen on it.

I've lived in overwhelmingly mainstream liberal urban areas for most of my life though.

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt for not understanding the constitution. However, as you point out, it's a more serious issue. It's sad that Americans make it to adulthood without a proper education of our history.

I would have to agree with you on this point. Per your location it seems that you live in South Carolina. As you can tell in the OP; us Californians don’t put up with Confederate nonsense!!! There’s a big difference between Cali & SC… We smack it down before it grows into something else… Neo-Confederates don’t bother me as well… The same thing can be said about ISIS & Al Qaeda. But being bothered and mounting opposition to a dangerous ignorance are two separate things… Please understand the difference!

Regarding my reference to the healthcare law! My statement was a pinpointed observation of conservative selective outrage about wasted time and resources. There was never going to be a vote tally that would wield a veto proof majority!!! So for 30 plus times the House of Representatives wasted tax payer money… There was no outrage from conservatives why??? (don’t answer that part because the question was rhetorical)…

I still don't get it. But, hey, if Californians support it, who am I to say?

You might not get it now but with disciplined studying it will come. I give lessons on Mondays and Wednesdays if you need assistance...

The rainbow flag would be fine in California.

I spend half my time in Florida and half in Alberta.

I see the Bars and Stars more in Alberta than in Florida on trucks.

That surprised me the first time I went south. There are no racial connotations to it in Alberta, just an expression of government leave me alone.
