The point I was making was that it doesn't have anything to do with the subject of this thread.

Did you know that in Germany, school children STUDY the holocaust? I had a friend who visited me from Germany and she said the reason was simple: If every generation knew all the details of the holocaust, chances were good those mistakes would not be repeated.

Why can't America be that smart?
You may want to look at the laws Germany has as regards displaying symbols of their shameful past. Going by your other posts, I don't think you want to bring them up at all.

Everyone is to be defended from slurs and stereotyping, except Southern whites apparently; it appears the forces of supposed anti-racism consider them an inferior people unworthy of protection to be excluded from the new anti-racist utopia. They will notice (are noticing?) this disconnect, and may come to see anti-racism as code for an existential threat. Once the well is poisoned to that degree it will be difficult for us to recover, all because of a few anti-Southern bigots who used the good cause against racism as the most convenient cloak.
What racist stereotypes would that be? You shouldn't get butt hurt over someone teaching someone that is uninformed. It should be taken at face value. That said, I can care less about a Yankee vs. Southern education argument. I personally know people from the south that are highly educated. So no need to make a straw man argument to try and prove a point.

They replaced it with the Mexican flag.

South Carolina, the first state to secede, specifically identified slavery as the primary reason for leaving the Union. In their declaration of secession (titled "Confederate States of America - Declaration of the Immediate Causes Which Induce and Justify the Secession of South Carolina from the Federal Union "), they state -

Not a word about cotton, agricultural products, tariffs, or any of that other nonsense. Slavery, pure and simple.

Of the other 6 original Confederate states, 3 more (Texas, Mississippi, and Georgia) specifically mention slavery as a primary reason for secession. Mississippi stated:

Texas said:

Georgia said:

That's the opening paragraph of the Georgia Ordinance of secession. Again, slavery. Period.

Of the remaining 3 Southern States who initiated the Civil War, Alabama did not list specific reasons for seceding, but did invite all other "slaveholding states of the South" to join them in their rebellion, and the final two (Florida and Louisiana) simply stated that they were seceding and left it at that. So of the 7 states who started the Civil War, 5 of them identified slavery as either a primary or the sole reason for seceding from the Union, and the remaining 2 did not mention any specific reasons whatsoever.

Additionally, Confederate Vice President Alexander Stevens - in his Cornerstone Address of March 1861, in which he outlined the Confederates' reason for the war - said this:

So, yes - as you say, "a little study in history would be beneficial." I would suggest you follow your own advice, and take a few minutes to educate yourself before posting such complete nonsense again in the future. The Civil War was all about slavery, and the states who started the war by seceding made no attempt to dance around it at the time. Say what you will about them, they at least had the courage of their convictions and the integrity to admit what they stood for. Unlike many of their modern-day revisionist apologists, obviously.
For those states, that basicly said they were seceeding specificly for slavery - they were speaking as any state would, to the needs of their individual big business in those states. Wealthy people had made substancial investments in many cases. Plantation owners had an investment at stake - some of which owned hundreds, if not thousands of acres.

The bulk of the white population could not afford to buy people. Didnt matter what state their regiment was from, Mother's were not sending their husbands and sons to fight so some rich guy could keep his slaves. Lets be sensible. Mountain folk are not known for having an abundance of slaves that they owned, but they still went and fought.

Interestingly enough Lincoln is quoted as believeing that slavery was wrong, but he did not believe white and black people could live together - or werent meant to live together, or something like that.

Then we have the forming of Liberia in Africa, and the founding of Monrovia so blacks that wanted to go back to Africa, had a place to go. These are not disconnected events.

The KKK I believe arose from the lack-luster Home Guard, who for the most part harassed citizens while their able-bodied men were at War. I guess after the War, they wanted to continue harassing somebody. Like all other Southerners, the used a Confederate Flag on their regalia. That doesnt give such organizations ownership of the entire history of that flag. It represents too many Southern American sons lost - over 624K Americans total died in that War.

If you really what a mind-blower, Google Black Confederate Soldiers. There are plenty of images of them. What were they fighting for? An armed black slave in the South? How could it possibly be?

I guess California wants to slap Black Confederate Soldiers and their descendants in the head for some reason? *shrugs*

It's a shame that you feel victim to that poor level of education that you speak of and now, as a result, don't understand the constitution. We cannot blame academia for your lack of knowledge, however. One should be able to learn on their own after a certain point.

In line with your admittance to poor education, I must point out to you that the Constitution does not contain a "capitol C" as you suggest. It contains a "capital C".

Hope this helps. Never stop learning.
