The operation will be led by America’s CIA spy agency.

Is this the same CIA spy agency that had no clue the Arab Spring was coming, had no clue that ISIS/ISIl/IS were moving into Iraq and had no clue that either the US Cairo Embassy OR the US Benghazi Mission would be attacked on 9/11/12?

How many more young Americans and Brits will die trying to defend the people of the Middle East? People that don't care enough to defend themselves, and instead embrace mindless thugs.

It's not really the same as Vietnam though... The North Vietnamese mobilized the entire adult population of a nation of 15-20 million people, had significant support in South Vietnam with the Vietcong, there were not a lot of ethnic divisions in the territories they controlled(except for in the mountains with the Hmongs), they were basically fighting for their nation in a civil war to unite the country. A lot of ISIS are foreign fighters out to kill(and be killed) they have some support though not total support among the local Sunnis and everyone else is scared of them though now realizing they can only fight or flee or they'll risk death(Kurds, Yazidis, Shiites, Turkmen, other tribes).

The estimates are about 15,000 fighting troops for ISIS maybe less or maybe more for a huge stretch of territory. That's not an invincible force, though once they're dug into the cities they could be hard to remove. But what's needed is to decimate the leadership and bomb the everloving crap out of them once they set foot into the open desert--and increase security and intelligence for any networks they have abroad.

Too many, even if the total is 1.

This tactic is what we should have done in Afghanistan in the first place. Iraq- we should have left them alone. I think the US is finding that a tyrant opposing radical Islam is better than chaos.

May I ask you? What exactly are special forces? Are they robots? Are they technology? These are men who have sisters, moms, dads, and girlfriends.. No?

They don't deserve to die, period.

Ask the Marine Corps, How many force recon guys came back alive? Why is middle east any of other people's businesses? They can fight their own terrorists.
