not just allowing divorce, because there are good reasons for divorce, but rather easy divorce, and remarriage.

Actually traditional marriage, at least per the Bible is polygamy; that and owning your wife.

The governmental problem is that multiple spouses can gum up things like social security and veteran spousal benefits, citizenship, per diem relocation for govt. employees, inheritance issues, legal testimonial and communication privilege, next-of-kin health care and wrongful death decisions, etc.

Now, if there was some way a provision could be made and absolutely enforced that allowed plural marriage but required only one spouse be designated for all legal purposes like the above, I'd be all for it.
1st Spouse gets it or it is split evenly.

Government owns you. They can tell you when and to whom you can get married too as well as when you can get divorced.
Here's a reason for a divorce. "Because I want to".

Wonderful news. The government should not tell me who and how many I can marry.

I have far bigger issue with people producing babies but forcing the taxpayers to raise them or not educating their children properly allowing them to commit crimes or become a welfare recipient. I couldn't care less how many wives or husbands one wants to have or whether they are the same sex or not as long as they are humans.
