No it hasn't been and the experience of entire civilized and industrialized world proves that when minimum wages go up the entire economy gets a boost.
And no, college graduates are not necessarily going to be better at minimum wage jobs... Lol
actually it has been proven that everytime you raise the min wage, there is a level of JOB LOSSES and added inflation to the already programed liberal inflation
say you raise the min wage to 15 on Jan1...within a year 30-50% of the min wage workers will have lost their jobs...inflation will multiply the effect and that 15 will have the buying power that 7 did
look at this past recession..a perfect storm of liberal policies
jobs disappear overseas...due to liberal policiues
a housing boom/bust due to liberal policies
and they raise the mi wage in 07 and 09...more added job lossed
the total...a recession...all due to liberal policies
Actually, the goal posts are exactly where they were. However, I'll answer your question since you insist.
What do you do when you make $10 an hour and can't afford the basic costs of living? You do the exact same thing that you would do when you make $20 an hour and can't afford the basic costs of living. You cut your budget, you stop spending money on frivolous expenses, and you either find a job that pays better or you get a second job to make up the difference. It happens every day, in every city, in every state. There are people out there who will do whatever it takes to take care of their and their family's needs, and there are people out there who want to sit back and whine about their situation in life. Personally, I think it's better to be in the former category.
You assume there are frivolous purchases, what if there aren't? Remember you have to have a cell phone plan because you can't get Obamaphone, you would have to get health insurance due to Obamacare and again Medicaid is off the table, section 8 housing again is off the table and so is government cheese and milk. Now again, would you be able to budget this out even if the costs are too much?
I don't disagree that there are those to pull them up by their bootstraps but, If there are only so many jobs, You may not be able to get said second job. In Arizona for instance, there are not enough jobs for one person to have a single job, let two. The point me saying this, is limiting factors may dictate some of what you and others suggest it is.

I don't have Obamaphone, i have a prepaid phone that costs about $10-$15 a month.
Not quite right. People who need/make excuses must be paid more than their contribution to the society while people who work hard and succeed must provide more to the society..
Employers generally pay employees less than their contribution to the employer, assuming the business is profitable.
How then are people who need/make excuses aid more than their contribution to society?
Simply calculate the government-imposed redistribution from renters to owners, and compensate renters justly.
and meanwhile in reality...at a majority of the rent goes to.....PROPERTY TAX.....
but you REFUSE to admit it
sorry you cant handle the truth
