Obama may need to recall these for his new war on ISIS.
Theoretically, no combat troops are being used so that seems doubtful. Even if they do the defense contractors will lobby for new ones to be bought instead of using the ones they already have. That's how the military-industrial complex rolls.
Wrong, an assault rifle is a select-fire weapon, one of the selections is fully automatic. So the AR15 is not an assault rifle, and you know it!
In California the AR15 is still classified as an assault weapon, select fire or not.

If Lanza had instead used a Glock 17 with an extended-magazine to hold 30 rounds, would you have called it an assault pistol?
Certainly. Any firearm with a high rate of fire and large magazine capacity could be considered an assault weapon.
The semi-auto on an AR15 has a pretty high rate of fire. So it doesn't apply only to automatics. Plus an AR15 can be easily converted to full auto.

Granted we can all come up with new definitions to any device to argue our cause BUT, an assault weapon is, and has been, a selective fire weapon.
If one wants to take great license they may call machetes, brass knuckles and lead filled slappers "assault weapons".

Are you worried that ISIS will land on the shores and storm the schools ?
The Obama WH will mandate they be given a free education, like the Central American invaders.
