If the U.S. just would have mind its own business and left the Dictators in charge, none of this would have happend. Guys like saddam hussein, muammar gaddafi, Hosni Mubarak, Bashar al-Assad, keep the muslim nut jobs in check. Now that we've(Democrats and Republicans are both guilty of this) helped to dispose of them the inmates are now running the asylum.

Real good question there. Christian Arabs; tho of the same "race" as the Muslim ones, have a MUCH better rep for acting like civilized people.

No, we're going the way of the Romans. Rome is burning and we're worried football players who beat their wives, being able to legally smoke dope and people who have abnormal sex.
It's the radicalization of Islam made easier by socio-economic conditions in those countries. Wahhabism and other forms religious radicalization is much more attractive to the poor and disenfranchised regardless of where they are. Arab countries, save for a few spots are dominated by a very rich elite class and populated by a lot of very poor, very destitute people. Furthermore, a lot of the more backward and repressive ideas that we conflate with muslim culture is really Arab tribal culture.
You might be onto something there but; the backwards parts does NOT seem to be nearly as bad with Christian Arabs.
The term "collapse" implies that it had reached some level of progress, which it hasn't over the past thousand years or so. The unfortunate reality is that the Islamic civilization that prospered while Europe was mired in the Darl Ages just hasn't moved forward from where it was back then.

Islam shuns education, therefore keeping the general population dumbed down as to easily control the and believe whatever they are told.
If it were possible you would leave the Arab world to sort out its own problems much like Europe did during the reformation. But that is impossible.
The Arab world is caught between following a 8th century holy book and 21st century technological and societal changes combined with coming to grips with the legacy of colonialism that created artificial borders. Unfortuantely it's atavistic tendencies are holding sway over needed societal and political reforms.
The Arab world can never have true self-determination as oil and geo-politics will always have other state actors interested in the outcome of any civil strife. So, the Arab world will continue to be an area of unrest for years and years to come.
its a sad fact.... and it is a fact that can only be denied by being unwilling to face reality.
Until the rest of the world comes to the conclusion that the only answer here is to invade these nations, set up governments that are free and utterly non-islamic in nature, and give all people the freedom to choose thier own faith....and then stay their for 3 or 4 generations until the populations become stable and committed to freedom, we will have to fight with this stuff.
the sad fact is, we will not come to this conclusion in the west. at least not until our cities are burning down around us and by then it just might be too late.
Very intelligent post. Our nation does not want to "offend" muslims, so we bury our collective heads in the sand until it will be too late. They are here, and will eventually take over. Then, the ignorant and apathetic American masses will ask "How did this happen- we thought Islam was a peaceful faith?!
