Wolves in Michigan's UP is a costly problem.

If you scroll down you can click on the darker green counties and see the dogs that have been killed.

Hunting is a major part of the economy in the UP.

That is why you will see many signs and bumper stickers that say. "Support Michigan's wild wolves......send them to a taxidermy".

You have to choose between real environmental issues or global warming. But be advised, the real ones won't make anybody rich(er).

Your first sentence tells us all we need to know about the drivel that follows. This is about you and some imagined conflict between people you disagreee with. Just like a child.

People would have more respect if you just presented a thread about animals or whatever but everything has to be couched in the typical malaise of "I'm right" and "They're wrong" political banter that passes for discourse in our society. Way to be a part of the problem.

That human beings can drive or hunt species to extinction is well documented. I know there are conservation efforts in many countries, but more conservation is needed.

This all begs the question are conservation efforts worth the costs?

The world would be a much greyer place without the diversity of species.

Don't confuse gloabal warming with reduced animal populations.

Of course humans can have an impact on wildlife populations but don't try to link that with human caused global warming and CO2.

There are many stories of wildlife management increasing wildlife populations.

First rule of WM is you cannot stockpile animals, the exception is a zoo or a 'frozen bull'.

Yep. They want to build an oil port in the beluga calving waters. If they succeed, say goodbye to belugas.
There are only about a thousand left, and they're not doing well.

I blame Africa and Africans and South America and South Americans. Those are the continents that have suffered the most. I say we kill all the humans there and turn the landmass over to wildlife.
