Interested in being involved in politics of the state. Hospital's in the state are lobbied by a collaboration of representatives from the are hospital's. They are looking for individuals who work in healthcare to be an advocate. Curious if this a great way to be involved in politics? What 's advocacy?

I've found that advocacy in politics simply means lobbying. Right now education advocacy groups are huge...but all they really do is lobby congress to make teaching impossible while pushing for mandates that will require services of bogus consulting and testing companies that these advocacy/lobby groups are merely a front for.
