One place where the debate ended years ago about whether climate change is real or not is the Department of Defense and the US Military. They have independently experienced, noticed and measured the effects of climate change, and been forced to make operational changes as a result.

Now a new Pentagon study raises the flag on national security risks caused by polar ice melting, by rising sea levels, and by diminishing fresh water supplies, such as this...

Quote:
In a stunning rebuke to climate change nay-sayers who routinely malign the United Nations and, most especially, its Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the ICA (Intelligence Community Assessment) cites several U.N. studies and especially relies on the IPCC's 2007 Assessment Report for dire predictions on the impact of climate change on water resources globally. In typically understated, cool and detached bureaucratese -- even when predicting potentially horrendous global implications -- the ICA concluded that "climate change will cause water shortages in many areas of the world" (including the western U.S.) that will "suffer a decrease in water resources due to climate change" and that, if left unaddressed, "water challenges worldwide will pose a threat to U.S. security interests."

Pentagon Study Cites Climate Change as National Security Threat*|*Renee Parsons
And from the report itself:

Quote:
Climate change poses another significant challenge for the United States and the world at large.
As greenhouse gas emissions increase, sea levels are rising, average global temperatures are
increasing, and severe weather patterns are accelerating. These changes, coupled with other
global dynamics, including growing, urbanizing, more affluent populations, and substantial
economic growth in India, China, Brazil, and other nations, will devastate homes, land, and
infrastructure. Climate change may exacerbate water scarcity and lead to sharp increases in food
costs. The pressures caused by climate change will influence resource competition while placing
additional burdens on economies, societies, and governance institutions around the world.
These effects are threat multipliers that will aggravate stressors abroad such as poverty,
environmental degradation, political instability, and social tensions – conditions that can enable
terrorist activity and other forms of violence.

Cheap propaganda.

Every scam needs bolstering for sustainability.

Sometimes the military is called in.

Which agency runs HAARP, anyway?

Anyone know?

Here it is:

"HAARP is a government-owned facility, primarily overseen by the U.S. Air Force, though the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) funds a number of grant projects there. The project was previously managed by the Air Force Research Laboratory at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts, but is currently overseen by a research unit at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, N.M. after the Hanscom unit was moved in 2011."

Default The ultimate liberal slippery slope

Talk about the sky is falling, birthers and GWB bombing the trade towers, this report stretches the imagination beyond a safe limit.

Following that logic one could argue that television is the cause of global unrest. Oops! obama tried that one with Benghazi.

No wonder obama has been replacing generals wholesale.....the ultimate liberal logic is the slippery slope which defines today's problem as if it were the least probable conclusion that might occur in the far distant future.

You'd think they would have learned their lesson from 10 years ago...

Pentagon wrestles with false climate predictions as military funds shifted to green agenda - Washington Times

Here's a question.. how come the alarmist predictions of the past are never held up to any scrutiny by the AGW crowd? You just wipe your hands and draw a new line in the sand that proclaims the "you-know-what" will hit the fan at a slightly later date than promised. When that invariably fails to happen, just rinse and repeat.

Meanwhile, the people who aren't buying into this garbage are called deniers and flat-earthers.

Reminds me of religion, with preachers preaching the 2nd coming and telling us all we have to repent in order to be saved. The non-believers are considered infidels and heretics. When their predictions fail to pass, they do the same thing, just draw a new line in the sand for some point in the future and they never seem to have a shortage of dopes who line up to follow this nonsense.

How come when they do come true the deniers don't ever back down and admit that they don't know everything? *

September 2014 Breaks Global Heat Record; 2014 On Track to Become Hottest Year Yet

In a statement released Monday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced that last month broke the global heat record by clocking in at an average of 60.3 degrees Fahrenheit.
.....
Last May, June, and August all broke the global heat record as well, and 2014 is now on track to become the warmest year since record keeping began 135 years ago.

*Answer, because they are so well funded by the fossil fuel industry to just keep it up. There's a LOT of money at stake in keeping people from looking at the damage that's accumulating from burning fossil fuels.

I know the Pentagon will seize on any issue to justify an increase in military spending.

In the mean time, let us know when you grasp the concept of Inter-Glacial Period.
