----------------------

A California highway patrolman says that for several years he has participated in a “game” in which he and other police officers shared explicit pictures they had taken from the cell phones of female arrestees.

Sean Harrington, a 35-year-old CHP officer, was initially being investigated for sending five explicit pictures from the cell phone of a 23-year-old woman he had arrested on Aug. 29 for a DUI, the Contra Costa Times reported.

The woman came forward earlier this month and told authorities that during her DUI stop — during which she registered a 0.29 blood-alcohol level — Harrington asked for the password to her cell phone, which she provided.

The woman told authorities that she later discovered that content from her Apple iPhone had been transferred to an unknown phone number while she was in custody. The record of the forwarding was deleted from the phone, but it showed up on her iPad – the two devices were synced. When she did not recognize the number to which the photos had been sent, she researched and found that it belonged to Harrington.

As disturbing as that allegation is, the Contra Costa Times dove deeper and uncovered several new twists.

According to court records obtained by the Times, Harrington said that he had done the same thing to other women “half dozen times in the last several years.”

Give it a break. Teachers; preachers and priest and perverts do worse everyday. Looking at nake pictures may get those involved fired but not sent to prison.

Don't be cowardly, defend your position.
I'll gladly defend my position: it's stupid to take naked picture of yourself and store them on electronic devices. We hear story after story after story of people getting them without permission and then sharing them via the internet.

Your pal Packard fan agrees with me

Why aren't asking him why he blames rape victims for being raped?
Yes thank you for reiterating that you think its the victims fault for having such photos on their phone.
How do you feel about the cops sharing the images?
I don't know packard fan personally maybe you have me confused with someone else.
But yes, packard fan is displaying the same twisted logic that you are. Maybe you two are "pals"?

I never said it was the victim's fault. I said it's a dumb idea to keep naked pictures of yourself on an electronic device. I think it's dumb to take a naked picture of yourself period.

I think it's disgusting and I'd like to see them fired, jailed, and civilly sued over it.

He's another archconservative on this board - I just figured you were giving him a pass for that reason.

I think its obvious by your post you think the victim is to culpable. The back peddling is comical.
Im not aware of the ideology of the c-d member you keep trying insert into the conversation and you are wrong about mine as well, but none of it is relative to the conversation and the attempt to distract is noted.

I've not back peddled from a damn thing. These women are 0% at fault and I've never said anything contrary to that. And it's still stupid to take naked pictures of yourself and even more stupid to store them on electronic devices.

I think the overwhelming majority would agree that these cops should be fired but we all know that they won't. The article doesn't say, but I bet they are on paid leave too. Anyone in the private sector caught doing this, say to a customer or co-worker, would be summarily terminated and escorted to the parking lot.

The public sector union system is these cops won't get fired and not even suspended w/o pay. Liberals will claim to support the idea that the cops should get fired, yet turn around and support the public sector unionization that blocks them from being fired.

It's a constitutional issue about your right to privacy. He's not a "sex offender". That term gets thrown about way too much.

And then people wonder why there are those who don't fully trust, or blindly put their faith in cops! Jeez! What a couple of scumbags! These two do NOT deserve to wear the badge, and have violated their oath of to protect and serve! Not to mention the privacy rights of these females by asking for their passwords!
