This is stupid, ugly and bigoted, the people you guys vote for...

Mitch McConnell may be the greatest strategist in contemporary politics - Vox

To prevent Obama from becoming the hero who fixed Washington, McConnell decided to break it. And it worked. Six years into the affair, we now take it for granted that nothing will pass on a bipartisan basis, no appointment will go through smoothly, and everything the administration tries to get done will take the form of a controversial use of executive power.

It's been ugly. But in most voters' mind, the ugliness has attached to Obama and, by extension, Democrats. It was a very counterintuitive strategy, but it was well-grounded in the best political science available. And it worked.
The Democrats have been fighting to reduce climate change, to raise the capital gains tax cut, to lower student loan rates, to build infastructure, to close corperate tax loopholes, to expand healthcare access, to help the poor...

The Republicans have done a good job of stonewalling them and limiting their ability to do anything, but even so, they made significant progress.

Republicans just want nothing other then "let's screw over the entire country to make the President look bad"

Could you outline what the "Republican Agenda in the 2014 Midterm Elections" was. I ask because i never really heard one coming from the Republican leadership.

This election was a protest vote against Obama's policies, a vote to kick the dems out of the senate, to stop Obama's agenda, to freaking stop him.

Obama was elected in 2008, based on all his Utopian promises for a more prosperous economy, less partisan Washington politics, a less racist society, and he was elected because of his grand changes he planned.

After we elected him we discovered that Obama lied, repeatedly, and often! So what did the people do?

Well, in 2010 the people took away his party's control of the House of Representatives, to force him and the dems to listen to the repubs and work together..

Obama successfully lied some more, blamed the repubs and he got reelected in 2012.

After we elected him we discovered that Obama lied, repeatedly, and often! So what did the people do?

Well, in 2014 we took away his party's control of the US Senate, because we are done with the dems, done with their obstruction, done with their horrible legislation, done with the Obama economy, done with their lies.

the people don't want the repubs to work with Obama, they want the repubs to write the legislation, right the legislative and regulatory wrongs by Obama and the dems.

In essence, the 2014 mid term elections was to reiterate what Limbaugh said in January 2009, "We hope Obama fails," we want him to fail to implement his agenda, fail to ruin our country any more then he has, and we want the republicans to fix and restore what Obama has broken.

Umm, how will we even tell if the dems reduce climate change, since there has not been and global warming recorded for almost 18 years? It's like claiming you vote for the dems because they will reduce the Martian invaders; there are are no Martian invaders, just as there is no global warming.

Student loans? Under Obama, the federal government took over student loans.

The dems want to raise the tax cut people and corporations receive for capital gains?

Infrastructure? Besides large construction projects like the Hoover dam, or military bases and federal buildings, the state governments own and control their own infrastructure.

After the partisan democrat ACA fiasco, don't even try to act as if the dems want to improve health care, all they have done is destroy it, piece by piece, family by family, doctor by doctor.

Help the poor!!!!???!!! Obama and his democrats have created 19 million new POOR!!! Under his rein as president poverty has soared to a 50 year high.

Then why didn't you vote Libertarian? Republicans don't want to end welfare, social security or Obamacare, they just want to "repeal" certain parts of those programs. Republicans are diet-socialist.

Great analogy, and the truth. However; let's see what they're made of. And realistically, we cannot cut welfare or social security just like that, or we'd have riots in the streets. I'm not sure Americans would be ready for the unrest that would come with doing radical cuts like that. Even as a Libertarian myself, I know that is unrealistic to do. But we can certainly slowly but surely head in that direction. Obamacare on the other hand, get rid of now before the damage gets out of hand!

bull

the dumbocrats haven't done anything.....

answer this why didn't they fix all that when they had control of both houses (from 06-10) and the presidency....... why because they are inept

fix climate change... ego much... you want to fix something that's natural...sorry Charlie...nature will win any time you try to 'fix' her

raise the capital gains... why to stop investments... to kill industry building and improvements

lower student loan rates...why are they not low enough...is not pell grants enough... try lowering tuition instead

close corporate tax loopholes (loopholes is another word for LAWS)...and the main 'loophole' that corporations use is the FAIRNESS rules..they pay taxes ELSEWHERE.... do you expect them to pay double and triple taxes... then expect them to charge more... because the consumer will lose... but the fascist liberals never use their brains.. only more tax please

expand health care access...EVERYONE had access to health care... just open the phone book... why not say the truth..expand access to someone else paying your bill

help the poor... yep liberals are so good at that... the housing bust...was them helping the poor... the AMT which was to 'tax the rich' now kills the middleclass.... welfare without work... yet lets keep the poor guy poor wit the scraps of welfare

liberals and their fascism/socialism will do only one thing...kill the middleclass...but that's the liberals dream...two classes... the poor SERFS eating the scraps of welfare and their rich liberal elite MASTERS

liberalism is a cancer to the US Constitution
