That is such an absurd (quite a euphemism) statement. The BBC is all about Britain and the whole world, they don't have any particular attitude towards the US. Brits' lives don't revolve around the US, you know. If the BBC says something critical of the US, or any other country for that matter, there must be a good reason for it.
I spent a month in the UK and Europe this year. The BBC hates America and publishes very biased information. They are as biased as any news agency in the world.

I never said Brits lives revolve around America.
I once heard the BBC referl to Sweden as a "third world country". Never paid them much attention after that.
Let me stop you right there. England/Wales has Europe's highest incarceration rate, at 143 per 100,000. The US, where freedom rings and the bald eagles soar? 750 per 100,000. Yeah, that's - well, 5 times and then some. Which is the police state again?
US police militarization is a common term, now. APCs and riot gear. No-knock warrants.
OK, let's talk police state. In 2012, 410 Americans were "justifiably" killed by US law enforcement. (409 with guns - possibly underreported, as reporting this sort of sh.t is voluntary.) In 2012, UK police fired their guns in the line of duty - once. Killing no one.
Europe has a huge immigrant problem too. How do you not know that? In 2014 you do not know how multi cultural European countries are?
Didn't go this year but I'm aware it's diverse, maybe not as diverse as the US.

Good for you.

I agree with them. It's not third world but it's not really first world in the current sense, no.

I hate to be the one to inform you of this - but you live in the police state.
You are right---- and nearly all the posters on here are thrilled about it. Beats me.
