I think that until the president has his speech no one here has a freaking clue as to what exactly is going to be in it.

Or they can go to the already established hood. Let them fight it out there.

President Obama, the best President we've ever had, has been very gracious with Republicans. He really needs to slam the hell out of them though because they deserve it. He won't though because he's too classy for that. He just goes about his business, getting done what he can for the good of the nation. In response, Republicans look like the Dukes of Hazzard.

He also gives the best speeches of any President in recent memory, certainly far superior speeches than any Republican could

I know. Whats wrong with mass deportation of people committing crimes by being here illegally when there are known methods of coming here legally?

Its like saying "hey lets not prosecute shoplifters that have kids as they might go to jail"

3) The alternative, mass deportation is horrible and would lead a huge amount of human suffering. Anyone who would prefer this over amnesty frankly is a terrible person.

2) Anyone who flagrantly thumbs their noses at our immigration laws is not a "decent person". In fact, they are no better than other criminals. I'm sure that bank robbers "just want better opportunities for their kids", too. Does that make them a "decent person"?

A "decent person" doesn't engage in ID theft. Nor do they use a fake SSN. Nor do they get paid under the table, thus evading taxes.

3) The alternative is NOT "mass deportation". Make E-verify the law of the land and tweak it so that it picks up things like illegals who name their anchor baby after the parent and then use said child's SSN. Once E-verify is tweaked, run everybody in the work force through it to weed out the 8-million no-match SSNs. if illegals can't find work or access freebies, then they will leave on their own accord. Would you stay someplace if you couldn't find work or access any welfare programs?

I assume that you put your money where your mouth is and are housing several illegals. I also assume that you gave them your SSN so that they can find work. Just remember to tell them not to use your name with your SSN. After all, there is a glaring loophole in the law that says it's okay if someone uses your SSN as long as they don't use your name with it. I'm sure that you won't mind dealing with the mess that will happen when those illegals use your SSN.

Finally, where is your compassion for the millions of suffering underemployed and unemployed Americans? Some of these unemployed Americans once worked in the construction fields. They lost their livelihoods because they couldn't compete with sleazy contractors who used illegal alien labor and paid under the table.

Really ? I thought the illegals couldn't qualify for welfare ?

We got plenty of slums here in Texas. They are called "colonies".
No running water, no electricity, no infrastructure whatsoever.

About 500,000 live in Texas colonias.
And this IS with Federal/State welfare programs for which they cannot apply.

And just what do we plan to do with them once granted amnesty ?
Many have less than a 5th grade education and no skills above manual labor.
