Local police forces have long received federal funds - $billions per year - most of it for back office equipment and systems. This isn't something new since Obama.

Between 2009 and 2014, the federal government has provided nearly $18 billion dollars in funds and resources to support programs that provide equipment and tactical resources to state and local law enforcement. The vast majority of that money goes to back office equipment, with only 4 percent of property going to heavier, more controlled equipment.
Nothing new. It is a part of "ensuring domestic tranquility".
I know that for several posters in this thread it would seem a mystifying concept, but the reality is that Black lives matter, and the failure to eliminate the disparity between how the heavy hand of law enforcement falls on people of a specific racial background is a problem that is far more important than the petty self-centered rationalizations some folks try to use to whine about how the costs of making society fairer will adversely impact their own personal comfort and luxury.
Black lives matter only when it isn't another black killing them then they cry racism ...
Obama in a campaign speech to a group of veterans said our law enforcement agencies should be as well armed equipped and trained as our armed forces...and now he is contradicting those words.
He said the problem in Ferguson with the police was a national problem that he created by militarizing the police in the first place.

Hey Obama, if welfare stimulates, and Ferguson now has less businesses, shouldnt the town now thrive due to increased welfare which is going to take place as a result?
