Not all of the $263M is for cameras. Read the links.

Camera's need to be hardened from even the most aggressive unarmed citizens. These arn't your normal image sensors, either. They need to have the contrast specifically tuned so only dark skin folk are clearly resolved and washing out lighter shade suspects (of any wrongdoing). And what consumer price point camera would have CGI guns overlayed in real time only on the resolved suspects (to match to various plants carried by law enforcement)? Normal consumer cameras usually say something cute like "cheese!" or make a digital shutter sound, but special cop models have "HE'S GOT A GUN."

Sounds like he is still at it too.

Wrong in Cambridge, wrong in Sanford, and wrong in Ferguson.

Without any apparent leadership skills, this POTUS has learned that the only time he can gain any traction or notice,... is when he is blaming somebody else for something. --- But, even the most liberal liberals are having trouble blaming G.W. Bush for everything, 6-years after the fact.

He (B.O.) probably realizes that this is just another stupid government give-away idea; just like he knew that the recent Immigration E.O. was inflammatory and would cause more problems than it solved. But, rather than totally slip into irrelevancy over the next two years, the strategy will probably be to confront Congress with this type of thing ... and then try to paint them as racist obstructionists when they balk. That will also set the stage for opposing any new legislation, since the 'gatekeeper' (Reid) no longer has the majority to simply 'kill' hundreds of bills submitted by the House.

My town already paid for these so unless they are reimbursing me (the taxpayer) then other towns should have to pay for them.

I hope it's a warm-hearted effort by Obama but after the last executive order, I fear that this is just a political ruse to distract (republicans do it too) and then paint the refusal to pay others bills as some sort of obstruction or racism or war on women etc.

Based upon Obama's track record of acting as much like Bush\Cheney as possible....it's probably a Halliburton subsidiary.

This is so much like the movie Brewster's Millions... it's like Obama has to spend $100 Trillion to get a monetary prize for himself.

I know that for several posters in this thread it would seem a mystifying concept, but the reality is that Black lives matter, and the failure to eliminate the disparity between how the heavy hand of law enforcement falls on people of a specific racial background is a problem that is far more important than the petty self-centered rationalizations some folks try to use to whine about how the costs of making society fairer will adversely impact their own personal comfort and luxury.
