Maybe it has something to do with just how bad G.W Bush was. Almost the entire world literally threw a party when Bush left and Obama was elected.

Obama is pretty conservative. I'm surprised more people on the left aren't more disappointed in him.

It's a combination of what he has done, what he hasn't done, the pathetic things that the right attacks him for and my memories of Bush Jr.

Because he's still better than John "Start a War with everyone we haven't already" McCain or Mitt "Increase spending but cut revenue" Romney.

They were caught up in the hype and the "he's the first" hysteria, and now can't admit they made such a huge mistake.

Seems that a lot of topics that were swept under the table for a long time are being brought to the surface, including the discomfort that can come with it.

Whether that was his intention or not--don't know!

Healthcare
Immigration
Gay Marriage
Race relation

and a whole bunch of other things, that just like most of America, we tend to ignore until a topic comes up and bites us in the 'nads.

The y-tuber is allowed his belief - you yours and others their beliefs.

They're too invested.

Imagine forcefully promoting something (or in this case, someone) with everything you have. You put your heart and soul into telling everyone how wonderful that something (or someone) is for years and years. You defend it (or him/her) unconditionally, often in the face of intense opposition.

Then you find out the truth.

To admit that you were wrong in that situation would be nearly the same thing as admitting that you're an idiot, and that you weren't just duped (nobody's immune from being scammed), but you actively and passionately promoted the lies. Who's going to do that? No, it's much easier to keep on doing what you're doing, even though you know it's not the right thing to do. It's a compromise of integrity to save face, nothing more, and it's done because they let themselves get too invested in the cause to ever turn on it.

Cult of personality, plain and simple. Americans love their idols. Look how many seek to justify the behavior of celebrities, Professional athletes, and the politicians of choice. We have all seen where the reporters asked people questions and switched the talking points from Obama and Romney and the die hard Obama supporters supported Romney's talking points when they thought they were Obama's. Very few bother to do any research and seek the truth.
