And why didn't Bush/Cheney take out the next-door-neighbor-dictator while they were eliminating the axis of evil and ridding the world of dictators? Not enough oil in Cuba or what?
I'll take that as a no, you do not believe in democracy, and support oppressive governments. I thought the lefties were for everyone being equally treated. Well maybe in theory, but not willing to take a stand I guess.

I hear Cuba is a time capsule from the 1950s, which would be great to see. I also realize that they have had trade relations with everyone but us all this time, and yet it is the US which gets blamed for their backwardness...not Communism.
Cuba women's national basketball team is world class. And Cuban cigar.

I am baffled and amused that the conservatives who are up in arms about this, all of sudden care about human rights.

Only two countries that we don't have normalized relations with North Korea and Cuba, in light of the Sony hacking and subsequent threats is Cuba really considered on the same level as North Korea?

As a conservative who isn't to fond of Obama, I say Kudos to him as it's time to lift the embargo.

Just wish he demanded Joanne Chesimard to be returned to NJ and sign me up for Cuban cigars of the month club.

Exactly who is the embargo punishing, certainly not Castro. The embargo will remain for the time being, this is just about normalizing relations the debate to fund an embassy will take place in congress.

I think it was more about not letting US dollars flow into an oppressive country, and letting that money benefit the Cuban government. The dictatorship will benefit way more than the people of the country.
