Is that how you assuage your guilt...by giving them a check?

How about when that bridge fell into the water? That count?

The Indians didn't have an infrastructure? The irony. LMAO

So what? The claim was that it has been rising exponentially since the 90's, not that the crime rate is twice what it was in 1960. It has not been rising exponentially, certainly not since the 1990's.

No. Unless you call tipis and wild rice "infrastructure".

288K violent crimes in '60 versus 1,163K in '13 isn't a major increase? LMFAO

Also:

- as I stated before I am speaking on behalf of MN I could not give a hoot what happens in whatever part of the trash nation is happening. 500 murders in Chicago really don't matter to me, since I am not a Chicago native, for example.

- your link is in no way "reputable" nor does it break anything down along the lines of RACE.

Look at "The Color of Crime" if you want a better representation of your "stats".

And the rest of us are bored with Minnesota this, Minnesota that. It's a distracting hijack from the original intent of the thread. Is it possible that this debate could move to DM or one of you could establish a C-D social group? There you two or three could focus strictly on MN and go point by point without all the pesky interruptions from people who would like to have a more general discussion about the topic at hand.

Because those positives don't really apply to EVERYONE.

And don't try to be the Morality Police. I get sick of people doing that. Here's a newsflash...

In reality, those days really weren't all that morally sound when you really think about it.

I wonder, what was it exactly about 1964 that marked the end of the good ol' days in the opinion of the OP...

The Beatles coming to America?
The Civil Rights Act?
Robert Moog's invention?
24th Amendment?

Laugh off whatever body part you like. You said crime was rising exponentially, particularly since the nineties. The numbers don't support your claim.

That pretty much says it all about you and your attitude. If you weren't engaged or interested, logic dictates that you wouldn't comment so apparently you don't have the power of your expressed opinions and convictions.

Yes, this country has and has had a myriad of social issues. Most nations have and do. We're not unique. We had some in the 40s and 50s. We had those and others in the 60s and 70s and beyond. Some get better. Others crop up. Welcome to the real world.

As an aside, the wild rice is phenomenal and we order it regularly.

Four times as many violent crimes isn't a massive increase?

What the *$&% are you smokin', son?

And as per your "source," Minnesota has 12 times as many violent crimes today than in 1960 (we had 16 times more in 2006):

Minnesota Crime Rates 1960 - 2013

So, again, I stand by what I stated before. Diversity has only brought more garbage.
