I can't imagine the horror of being at work one day, sitting at my desk, and having a bunch of guys run in shooting everyone in sight. Its sickening.

Wonder what state provided the training and indoctrination for these guerrilla fighters.

Paris Gunmen Are Skilful Professional Killers

Ironically, there was an article in yesterday's paper about the former French Foreign Minister meeting with the leaders of Al Nusra Front (Al Qaeda in Syria) and guerrilla forces in Syria. They recently received TOW anti-tank missiles from the US as well.

I know. Sometimes at work I'll trace out my escape route in my head if something ever goes down.

Yeah, because Christians are behind so many terrorist attacks, beheadings, and stonings these days.

It looks like an inside job. The offending material was published on the web only minutes before the attack. The gunmen were well equipped and organized. It's not something you would put together in a few minutes.

Not.
Actually, tons of Islamic leaders have come forward expressing disgust over these criminal acts. Islam really is a religion of peace, the extremists mis-interpret a few parts of it and basically cease to be Muslims in the true sense.

It's like saying Westbero Baptist church is a accurate representation of what it means to be christian.

It's like the great bumper sticker: "When Jesus said love thy neighbor, I'm pretty sure he meant don't kill them".

Yeah Christianity (more specifically it's extremists) has evolved a ton comparatively speaking, but it's past is riddled with murder, rape, torture, you name it.

Atheists aren't any better in the extreme either, just look at what Stalin and co. did not too long ago. Some humans are evil, plain n' simple.

Do French Cops carry guns?

They should after this event. Can't believe cities or countries take guns away from their Police.

What I found interesting while listening to the report on this today is that many French cops "choose" not to carry a firearm.
Given the current terrorist rise, the attacks over the last couple of years (from lone wolf to mass attacks) I don't understand the logic behind a cop going unarmed into the unknown on a daily basis.
