Healthy? I'd call that borderline obese. Spend some of that cash on some running shoes.

Food stamps have been cut across the board very recently and will most likely continue to be; all this whining and complaining makes people seem bitter and resentful.

Would you rather make such little money that you qualify for food stamps?

If you are struggling so much, why not apply and see if you qualify instead of being angry at those that do.

The facts are that the majority of recipients of food stamps are children and the elderly and the majority of those in between are employed.

The US Government wastes TRILLIONS and TRILLIONS on RICH people, many not even in this country so I really find it LUDICROUS to complain about POOR AMERICANS getting a couple hundred each month to SPEND IN AMERICAN STORES TO FEED THEMSELVES. I would actually like to see a rule that Food Stamps CANNOT be used at Wal Mart and must only be used at local farmer markets and food co-ops.

I will admit $900+ per Month is ridiculous and only incentivizes people to eat unhealthy or sell their extra food stamps for cash.

Their is no such thing as "food stamps" anymore since it is a EBT Card instead so you can't trade it for cash or other things.
Others have suggested people go to "soup" kitchens to get their meals! Really how are they going to get there in the first place?
The 'SNAP" program is very thorough as to who qualifies so you basically have to jump hurdles to prove that aid is needed.
Lastly it seems people are upset at what they buy! Why? That is none of your business how the poor should eat.
Let's not mention how many people in Uniform are on "food stamps" while serving our country which is a shame to begin with that they are not making enough money to even feed themselves or their families!
Republicans cut back the food stamp allowance yet have no problems increasing money for bombs!

People still let others use their EBT cards and get cash.

Fifty cents on the dollar is the going rate.

I am asked if I want to buy some a few times a year.

While we are at it lets change the way school lunches are done too and allow resturants do in school lunch programs. The food would be much better. Make it a requirement that its a local mom and pop resturant.

Let them use their food stamps for staples only: fish, meat, vegetables, fruit, flour, sugar, milk, bread, cheese.

Everhthing else should be on them.

If Common Sense Was Common
● Redistribution of wealth (compulsory charity) would be recognized as government sponsored slavery, no matter how deserving or pitiful the recipient
● And such “charity” results in a totalitarian police state to enforce “taking” from one to give to another.

How else would they enforce it? Wheedling and coaxing, "pretty please?"

We need to provide food, not money or credit cards, to those who need it. They should receive the basics like milk, cereal, eggs, cheese, chicken, butter, vegetables and fruit.

If you want soda, chips, ice cream or nutter butters, buy it with your own money.
